So, how on earth is he going to get himself out of this situation? 

A 23-year-old unemployed man with a superhero name has been jailed for nearly three years for theft, trespassing and drug use.

Batman bin Suparman was caught on CCTV breaking into a snooker hall at the Depot Heights Shopping Centre in Singapore on two separate occasions and stealing S$500 (£250) in total.

He pleaded guilty to various charges, including stealing his brother’s bank card to make withdrawals totalling S$650 (£325), and taking heroin. Batman was sent to prison for a total of 33 months.

Batman - who was arrested on August 19 and jailed yesterday - became a social media sensation when an image of his oddly-named identity card, listing a date of birth of May 13, 1990, went viral.

News of the theft - which took place at a snooker hall called Games Fusion Billards at the mall on Depot Road - was first reported by the likes of Agence France-Presse and Channel News Asia. 

A Facebook fan page called ‘Batman bin Suparman Fan Club’ has gathered more than 11,000 likes. One post by a user suggested he 'legally changed his name to be a misspelled DC character hybrid'.

Other users on the website said he could use his time in jail to 'catch up on all your comic book reading', while another said: 'He's only in jail for training, like at the beginning of Batman Begins'.

And Kevin Yang said: 'Our idol has been jailed! Someone break him out of prison!'

An article on Slate claimed the surname 'Suparman' is actually common among part of the Javanese population, and comes from the prefix of 'Su-', derived from a root meaning 'good and fortunate'.

The writer added that the surname is often seen in parts of Asia, with a former Indonesian military commander named Djadja Suparman and a Sundanese musician called Ade Suparman. 

Batman, however, is not a common name - and the author hints that the man's name, which literally translates as 'Batman, son of Suparman', could even have been a 'wry joke' by his parents.

Reports claimed Batman pleaded guilty to several offences within the charges of six counts of theft, two counts of trespassing, and one count of heroin consumption – and only three went to trial.

They were the break-ins at the billiards hall - and the theft of the debit card belonging to his older brother, who is named Nurazman Suparman, according to Gawker.

Meet Syoma, the fearless, who plays cat and mouse....with a fox.

His day job is to keep the mice at bay in houses at an entry post to the magnificent Kronotsky Nature Reserve in the volcanic Kamchatka peninsula, in the extreme east of Russia. 

Locals say Syoma does it well.

After the arduous work, it's time to play. In Syoma's case, this is with someone a little bigger than him.

Syoma is a cat with character, and I learned it from the first few seconds of our acquaintance. My attempt to pat the animal ended with him hissing, scratching and biting.

Of course, he tolerated me after that - it was only for show.

Once, as a kitten, young Syoma was almost stolen and carried away in the claws of some white night bird. The truth is that that time nothing bad happened and the cat came back slightly injured, but safe and sound.

Now, a year older, Syoma has made friends with some of the locals, including this fox who regularly appears to play with the cat.

Syoma seriously tries to defend his territory. 

The fox in my opinion, is just teasing the cat, making him play and run.

Yet both seem to be having fun, and this does not appear to be an all-out territorial battle.  

There is no question of Syoma being intimidated.

The fox flirts and comes closer to the cat, and Syoma with a serious face tries to drive the fox away. 

But then they run round and round the post on the edge of the nature reserve each happily pursuing their own goals. 

For the cat it's a good warm-up before going to bed. After such exercises he has a very deep and long sleep.

Kronotsky Nature Reserve, Kamchatka is one of Russia's oldest wildlife reserves, founded under Stalin in 1934.

With it's harsh climate and volcanoes and geysers, it is described as the Land of Fire and Ice.

Lake Kronotsky is the largest in Kamchatka, with the 3528 metre Kronotsky Volcano towering above it.

Ugly Story

Claim:   A man in China has sued his wife for bearing him ugly children.

A Chinese man divorced and then sued his ex-wife for giving birth to what he called an extremely ugly baby girl, the Irish Times reported.

Initially, Jian Feng accused his wife of infidelity, so sure that he could never father an unattractive child.

When a DNA test proved that the baby was his, Feng's wife came clean on a little secret — before they met, she had undergone about $100,000 worth of cosmetic surgery in South Korea.

Feng sued his ex-wife on the grounds of false pretenses, for not telling him about the plastic surgery and duping him into thinking she was beautiful, The Huffington Post reported.

The kicker? He won. A judge agreed with Feng's argument and ordered his ex-wife to fork over $120,000.

"I married my wife out of love, but as soon as we had our first daughter, we began having marital issues," he told the Irish Times. "Our daughter was incredibly ugly, to the point where it horrified me."

Origins:   This item about a Chinese man named Jian Feng who supposedly sued his wife for bearing him ugly children has been kicking around the Internet since at least 2004. An account published in the Heilongjiang Morning Post back in that year maintained that Feng's wife had undergone extensive cosmetic surgery prior to meeting him to disguise her less-than-desirable looks but had not disclosed that fact to him, and her secret was given away when she gave birth to an "ugly baby daughter" and confessed. Feng thereupon successfully sued his wife both for divorce and monetary damages over her "deceit":

A Chinese man has divorced and sued his wife for £55,000 after discovering she'd had plastic surgery before they met.

Jian Feng, 38, was said to have been "horrified" when she gave birth to an ugly baby daughter. He suspected her of having an affair.

His wife then confessed to having plastic surgery costing £70,000 in South Korea before they met and showed him a picture of how she used to look.

He filed for divorce two years after marrying her following a whirlwind romance.

The Heilongjiang Morning Post said Jian successfully sued for deceit.

This item has now been circulating on the Internet for the better part of a decade, periodically resurfacing when some news outlet unaware of its background picks it up and runs it as a current and true news story. Recent outbreaks of this tale typically reference "children" rather than a single daughter and are accompanied by a purported photograph of the family in question, comprising three children:

Clearly this photograph has nothing to do with the story to which it is now attached, as the Fengs supposedly divorced after the birth of their first child, a daughter, but this family portrait includes three children, the eldest of which is a boy. Indeed, this image actually originated with an advertisement for a Taiwanese plastic surgery center:

What do you think of this picture? A handsome father and pretty mother surrounded by three children who very much resemble each other all smiling in front of the camera — it looks like a happy picture of the perfect family, doesn’t it? But wait, is there something about this family that doesn’t quite look right?

Well, this picture is an ad for a plastic surgery center in Taiwan, and you can see that the children in the picture don't look like their parents at all. The ad features the line, "The only thing you have to worry you about after plastic surgery is the explaining you'll have to do to your children."

Is any aspect of this story true? Probably not, as it apparently originated as a single-source item printed in a Chinese newspaper (the Heilongjiang Morning Post) known for publishing urban-legend like tales without verification, such as its recent fictitious story about a man who arranged to meet his online girlfriend for their first "real" date only to discover that she was his son's wife:

The newspaper published the story "Man's online date is daughter-in-law," saying that a 57-year-old man in Muleng, Heilongjiang province, asked his online girlfriend out for a date only to find out that she was his own daughter-in-law.

The story became a web hit after it was published.

The newspaper published an apology, saying that the police of Muleng had confirmed that the story was false and was fabricated by Wei Hongji, a reporter with Muleng Television.

The newspaper said it had asked Wei to help provide photos but did not verify the facts any further.

We'd guess that this item originated as a story invented to impart a lesson about the perils of excessive vanity and deceit, and as is typical of such tales, it quickly made the leap from illustrative fiction to "this really happened."

PENGAWAL keselamatan, Azman Md Nayan sekali lagi menjadi bualan ramai di alam maya apabila fotonya bersama aktres jelita, Izara Aishah dan pelakon meningkat naik, Dazrin Kamarudin di kawasan parkir di sebuah lapangan terbang tersebar luas.

Difahamkan, mereka sedang menjalani penggambaran untuk drama TV9, Cinta Pandang Ke-2 arahan pengarah berbakat besar M Nazir Juhan atau Jet Lee.

Penampilan pengawal keselamatan itu yang sebelum ini terlibat kontroversi kerana insiden maki hamun oleh isteri kepada pemain bola sepak terkenal negara ternyata mengundang pelbagai reaksi daripada orang ramai.

Selain ada yang memuji, ada juga menyifatkan bahawa produksi drama tersebut sengaja mencari publisiti di atas kontroversi yang melanda pengawal keselamatan itu.

Bagaimanapun, pengarah drama berkenaan, Jet Lee memberitahu, penglibatan Azman dalam drama arahannya itu hanya satu kebetulan.

"Ketika itu, kami sedang buat penggambaran di kawasan parkir, sebuah lapangan terbang.

"Oleh kerana melibatkan tempat parkir, kami memerlukan seseorang yang beruniform, jadi pengurus produksi panggil Azman untuk menjadi pelakon tambahan sebagai pengawal keselamatan yang juga memang tugasnya.

"Kebetulan pula, waktu itu dia sedang berehat makan tengah hari," katanya pada Zass.

Mengulas mengenai babak berkenaan yang dikatakan sama seperti pernah dialami oleh pengawal keselamatan itu, kata Jet Lee, dia tidak berniat untuk menyindir apatah lagi menyinggung perasaan orang lain dengan watak yang diberikan kepada Azman itu.

"Dia bawa watak sebenar, jadi saya hanya suruh dia berkelakuan seperti dia sedang bekerja.

"Jadi, sebagai seorang pengawal keselamatan di kawasan parkir dia berhak untuk menegur apa yang betul atau tidak," katanya sambil memberitahu babak lakonan Azman hanya mengambil masa selama dua minit.

Drama adaptasi novel Karangkraf

Bercerita lebih lanjut mengenai drama rantaian terbarunya, Cinta Pandang Ke-2, Jet Lee berkata ia adalah drama adaptasi novel berjudul sama karya Laila Kamilia yang diterbitkan oleh Kumpulan Media Karangkraf.

Drama 13 episod ini diterbitkan oleh ZK Creative Production Sdn. Bhd dan akan ditayangkan di slot Aurora di TV9 dan bakal menemui penonton Disember nanti.

"Selain Izara dan Dazrin, drama bersiri ini turut dibintangi Maria Farida, Ridzuan Hashim, Norman Hakim, Erynne Erynna, Along Eyzendy, Amira Rosli, Abby Nour dan ramai lagi," katanya.

Ketika ditanya mengenai cabarannya, Jet Lee menjelaskan dugaan utamanya adalah faktor cuaca yang kini tidak menentu menyebabkan terdapat sedikit gangguan perubahan jadual.

Drama bersiri Cinta Pandang Ke-2 berkisar mengenai seorang rakan lama Zairul lakonan Dazrin dan Ainnur Azleen (Izara) yang tidak pernah sebulu walaupun mereka berdua sekelas.

Tindakan Zairul yang sering menyakitkan hati Ainnur menyebabkan wanita itu berasa hati lalu bertukar sekolah. Mereka terpisah bertahun lamanya sehingga dipertemukan semula di tempat kerja sehingga membuatkan Zairul jatuh cinta dengannya.

Karektor anime yang menakjubkan!

Percaya atau tidak, ini sebenarnya adalah seorang remaja yang sedang menggayakan watak anime yang dia minati. Namanya ialah Anatasiya Shpagina. Remaja 19 tahun dari Ukraine ini telah menetapkan misi untuk menghidupkan watak anime ini setiap hari sepanjang hidupnya. 

Sekarang remaja itu mempunyai fanpagenya sendiri iaitu di  Facebook dan juga pengikut di Youtube yang memaparkan tutorial untuk bermekap seperti watak anime yang mereka diminati. Remaja yang mempunyai ketinggian 5'2" dan berat 90 lb ini menghabiskan masa berjam-jam setiap hari untuk memuaskan hati dengan hobinya yang pelik ini.

Jika dilihat di Youtube, gayanya tidak ubah seperti patung, jarang bercakap dan tidak senyum langsung. Beliau hanya melambai tanganya sekali-sekala. Gayanya seperti seorang pelakon 'method acting' terkenal seperti Daniel Day Lewis, cuma saya rasa Lewis tidak mampu lakukan gaya seperti remaja ini  jika pun beliau ingin mencubanya. Pada saya agak sukar memahami remaja yang sudah berumur 19 tahun melakukan perkara pelik seperti ini. Kalau budak berumur 12 tahun tidaklah nampak terlalu janggal sangat.

MULING - Old man meets online friend at hotel but is stunned upon opening the door–"How could the person who gets a room with me be my son’s wife?"

On the 22nd, an preposterous incident that leaves people uncertain of whether to laugh or cry happened in Muling city [Heilongjiang province]. 57-year-old man Wang had gone online and gotten to know female netizen “寂寞的花草” [literally, "lonely flowers and plants"]. 

Upon arranging to meet at a hotel, an awkward incident occurred: The female netizen turned out to be his son’s wife [daughter in law].

After Old Wang retired two years ago, he enjoyed going online at home to chat, even giving himself an internet alias of “善解人意” [idiom meaning "good at understanding others"].  Old Wang has a son called “Da Jun” [literally, "big army"] who works throughout the year in long-haul cargo transportation and has over the past 8 years of marriage spent more time away from his wife than with her. Daughter-in-law [Da Jun's wife] Lili is unemployed and stays at home taking care of the son. Every day after taking the son to school, she is at home chatting online, her internet alias being “Lonely Flowers and Plants”. On the night of the 21st, while her son slept, Lili went online and met netizen “Good At Understanding Others”, and the two of them chatted very congenially [got along very well], all the way until 2am the next morning when Old Wang asked to see what “Lonely Flowers and Plants” looks like. Lili cautiously sent over a photo of her good friend, and when Old Wang saw that the woman in the photo was very beautiful, his desire was aroused.

Old Wang claimed to be a manager/director of a company, that his wife had only recently passed away two years ago, and that he was single. “Lonely Flowers and Plants” also lied saying her husband had been sentenced to 5 years in prison for getting into a fight with someone and severely injuring the other, that she was living on her own with her child. “Lonely Flowers and Plants” suggested chatting naked with Mr. Wang, but because the video [web cam] wasn’t working, he sent a photo of a friend from back when he was in the military to Lili. Lili saw “Good at Understanding Others” as natural and unrestrained as well as tall, and was thus very attracted, so arranged to meet him at 6pm sharp in room 403 of a certain Muling city hotel on the 22nd.

At that time, because Da Jun had finished delivering his cargo, he rushed home 3 days ahead of schedule from Harbin. His wife wasn’t home and when he called, she said she was at the beauty salon doing her hair. So Da Jun went online, only to discover a problem, that Lili forgot to turn off the computer when she had left, nor did she sign off her QQ [a Chinese instant messaging program], so Da Jun saw the disgustingly romantic chats between his wife and “Good at Understanding Others”, infuriating him. However, he wasn’t about to do nothing and wanted to catch his wife and the other netizen red-handed. So, he called Lili and said he had some cargo that he needed to transport to Mishan city and he wouldn’t be back until the afternoon of the next day. Lili didn’t know it was a ruse, so after she had taken her son to her parents’ home in the evening, she went to the appointed hotel. Lili never expected that when she went to meet her netizen friend, Da Jun was already following her in secret.

Lili went upstairs and knocked only to see before her eyes when the door opened her father-in-law. Old Wang was also dumbfounded, how could it be his son’s wife? Embarrassed and ashamed, Lili turned and ran. It was at that moment that Da Jun appeared having followed her. “This was a misunderstanding!” Without waiting for Old Wang to finish explaining to his son, Da Jun flew into a rage from the humiliation and beat his unfaithful father bloody, his wife also losing 3 teeth from being beaten. “I’m out there working my *** off to earn money, half-dead with fatigue, and all the while you two are messing around!” Seeing a war in the hotel hallway, service staff called the police.

Police from Bamiantong Town Muling City police station took the entire family of three to the station for questioning, chastised the father and daughter-in-law, and Da Jun was detained for 5 days for the assault on his father.

Red alert in Plymouth England over Durians!

ENGLAND - An entire row of city centre shops was evacuated in Plymouth, England -- all because shoppers caught a whiff of durian.

According to the PlymouthHerald, many customers complained of a gas-like smell, and shop owners reported it as an emergency for precaution.

Within minutes, shoppers, office workers and employees of the stores along the street were cordoned off as police, firefighters and staff investigated the 'gas leakage'.

It was found that the stench came from an Asian grocery store YW Foods behind the street, which had a large durian delivery that day.

The whole false alarm lasted for about thirty minutes, and everyone was allowed back into the shops.

Maid steals clothes from employer's dead mother and poses for pictures in them

A maid apparently stole clothes, branded bags, an iPad, house keys, and cash from STOMPer Wendy's late mother, and even posted pictures of herself wearing the clothes on facebook. 

The maid was sent home following several thefts, and Wendy discovered the maid had also stolen and worn her late mother's kebaya after seeing pictures on facebook of the maid posing in the kebaya. 

Wendy wrote:

"Monstrous maid who stole from the dead.

"My former maid (left in picture, in green kebaya) stole my late mother's kebayas for herself and a friend, and boldly posted pictures of them wearing the kebayas on Facebook while still in my employment!

"I only discovered this after I terminated her service and she went home after a string of thefts and bad behaviour issues.

"This maid also stole my late mother's branded bags, iPad, house keys and cash!

Wendy adds that the maid had expressed an intention to return to Singapore soon, and will be investigated by the police and MOM if she does so.

"She expressed an intention to come back to Singapore soon.

"The police and MOM will conduct further investigations when she comes back to Singapore.

"There is already an employment ban placed on her, but she can still be allowed into Singapore on a social visit pass."
